People going out of their way to create where they previously weren’t before I think is really sort of a beautiful thing. Not necessarily in the immediate aesthetics of the thing, as it’s there that practice and expertise and mastery come through as products of time and effort, but in a different, more figurative sense there might be a sort of furtive beauty found in the meager first offerings of an effort into a new medium, or instrument, or style, or even the creative fray itself. Maybe in this way, something like art brut takes on a new sort of beauty given the limited resources (in talent and creative ability as we see them) that are being used to try and transcend those limits ironically maybe, through creation.
